On to the best part of my weekend - as promised I did complete a Retro Flower Block and without further adeiu:
I am so happy with how it turned out! Now only 15 more to go!
I also worked on my challenge block for the April BOM with Craftsy:
I whipstitched all of those little hexies together for this design. I love it - you decide - it is all in the viewers interpretation - is it an asterisk, hexie style? Is it a snowflake? or a molecule? or a jax? or a star? Now that the design is set, I just have to permanently sew them down.
I will be linking to Manic Monday over at Jenna's SewHappyGeek. It looks like she has a new pattern -- check it out! I will also be linking up with Lee over at Freshly Pieced for WIP Wednesday, stop by and check out everything that is going on!
Beautiful hexies! And retro flower, too!ReplyDelete
I think it's either an asterisk or a snowflake.
Thank you! Well if you live on the East coast today it would be a snowflake!Delete
Love your hexies, definitely a snowflake! Thinking of doing something similar with mine, hope it looks as good as yours when done :)ReplyDelete
Thank you! I am sure it will, you do wonderful work!Delete
It is like a lovely spring snowflake. Looks great!ReplyDelete
Love the colors you used on these blocks. So cheerful and fun looking. I love some of the new fabric lines. I'm not sure if I'm a modern quilter, but I love their colors and patterns!ReplyDelete
Thanks Rosemary, it think it is the bright colors and white negative space that draws me to the modern style. I still love many of the traditional but was ready to try something different. Although one of the first quilt I ever received was an appliqueed tree of life on a white background!Delete
So sorry if you did not get my reply--Blogger is not working again tonight! The reply button does not work :( But Thanks everyone for stopping by and the comments! It really helps to hear what eveyone thinks!ReplyDelete
Love your fabric choice - Modernology by Pat Bravo for the Retro Flower QAL and you did a fantastic job on your first block! Can't wait to see the finished quilt! Well done, Ginny =)ReplyDelete
